I think I installed V Drive when it was a download by it self. Then upgraded to the DVD next Copy that uses V Drive. Anyway I'm trying to troubleshoot a memeory problem with my computer (when uninstalling Windows 2007 Outlook Business Contact Manger it reported a memory problem) which would explain why most of the time Outlook 2007 cannot work or start-up correctly and some directories can be accessed by Exployer but not by other programs.

What I'm trying to do is find the directory where it's at and files to remove it. I've uninstalled DVD next Copy but Explore says the Vitual Drive is still there. Where is it? Is there an uninstall program?

DNC and vdrive are 2 different programs no need to uninstall DNC just vdrive. go to the control panel and double click the add/remove software and uninstall it or go to start, programs, dvdnextcopy Virtual Drive and uninstall it. I did install office suite 2007 and plan on setting up my email account soon and will reply if I had any memory issues. I had 2003 with business manager contact and it was a pain to get to work even if DNC wasn't installed.

I don't have business contact manager as I have no use for that but no issues with outlook 2007 and vdrive and dnc on this end.

Not sure what is DNC?

When I orignally installed V Drive I thought I put it in D:\Programs...
It appears that it did not install correctly. Due to the fact that it is not listed in Control Panel and there is not Icon.

The only way I can tell it's there is Explorer shows a V Drive

Nero also has a V Drive but I do not believe I used it. Will Nero's V Drive work with Dvd next Copy?

I thought I had a pretty good handle on this computer stuff but since trying to make back-up DVD's I've had to learn some more :speak_cool:

This Vdrive on nero is Nero InCD and I recomend that you uninstall nero incd. DNC is short for DVD neXt COPY. :)

Try this for vdrive

Uninstaller

Windows built in uninstaller doesn't always do a very good job of uninstalling a program. This little freeware program is easy to use and does a much better job than Windows. The "Download" button is at the bottom of the page.

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/myuninst.html

or

MyUninstaller is an alternative utility to the standard Add/Remove applet of Windows operating system. It displays the list of all installed application, and allows you to uninstall an application, delete an uninstall entry, and save the list of all installed applications into a text file or HTML file.
MyUninstaller also provides additional information for most installed applications that the standard Add/Remove applet doesn't display: product name, company, version, uninstall string, installation folder and more.

Important Notice
When you uninstall a software, MyUninstaller utility is not directly responsible to the uninstall process. MyUninstaller simply run the uninstall module provided by the software that you want to uninstall. So, if from some reason the uninstall process fails, you should contact the author of the software that you want to uninstall, not to the author of MyUninstaller.

My system is so corupt that SystenSuite 7 UNinstaller Freezes up during midway...

Figured out the problem:
I have a HP Photosmart C7180 which I use to scan disk and DVD Covers while burning. The Scanner has it's own Virtual Drive that it uses. DVD next Copy and HP Photosmart are trying to use the same Virtual Driver. Yours does not appear to be on system. Found it with the Remove Hardware Icon.

Don't know how to reslove this. I must be able to scan while burning.
Any thoughts?

I will make a note of this to be looked into. I am glad you found out the problem. I still never heard of a scanner that runs a virtual mode like a vdrive though. Maybe and I know this sucks so bear with me here. Maybe you should just reformat (destructive) the PC and then run PCDecrapifier.

PC Decrapifier - DVD neXt COPY Support Forum (http://www.dvdnextcopynews.com/showthread.php?t=1354)

Then run ccleaner and regseeker.

After that run windows defrag and then install all your programs after 10 different programs installed I would run ccleaner and regseeker then defrag again. This will keep your PC really clean and healthy to continue adding programs and then there won't be any problems. Also I suggest to run adaware at least once a week depending on how much you surf the net.

Ad-Aware 2007 Free - DVD neXt COPY Support Forum (http://www.dvdnextcopynews.com/showthread.php?t=1338)

All these tool are free. Let me add don't install system mechanic, nore Norton nor McAfee. ccleaner and regseeker are the same as mechanic and download avg free for your anti virus. Yes this is totally free as well.

I use these with my system all the time and recommend it to everyone. Plus I'll add that these programs don't use allot of resources unlike the others as well giving your PC more room to allow you to multi task too.

I will be on and off of here this morning so please keep me informed and if you have a question about something be it software or whatever feel free to ask and I'll gladly help you through this ordeal.

I also want to say sorry for the bad news of my suggestion.

ALL TO MAKE BACK-UP COPIES OF MY DVD SO THEY WILL PLAY ON ALL MY PLAYERS...

I've spent a month try to reslove the conflic with my directories and storage devices. Reinstalled / Reformat everthing over 4 times. I'm not doing it no more for DNC no matter how much I like it. Can I have a ver. that doesn't need the V-Drive? Why is the V-Drive so important yours is the only DVD copy program I've ran accross that uses it.

I've un-installed DNC and HP Software and it was a real messy removal. There are 100's of HP Files left on the computer according to Explorer. But to insure I get everything instead of a restart; I'll shut off the computer for a few than start deleting

I'm not reinstalling DNC until I hear from you problem fixed or you have a ver. that does not need V-Drive.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Dear Robert,

VDrive isn't needed to run DVD neXt COPY it is only if you want it and there is no need to use it. VDrive is a separate download and a separate install than DVD neXt COPY so you can still run DNC without vdrive. This was a want from allot of other users and you don't need it to use DNC. So if you uninstall vdrive and install DNC then you're good to go and ready to backup your DVD's.

Excellent news. :agree::agree::speak_cool:

I also do not use the Virtual drive. I have no need for it personally and the program works great. :agree::agree:
