I will try another movie. I dont understand why its taking so long now and I am not doing anything differently.
the blank DVD's are by GQ 4.7GB 16X DVD-R

The DVD player is a Sony DVD+-RW DW-Q58A UDS2

I would use the machinist personally as the free plugin. google platinumripper to get it.

GQ media what is the rated speed on that? Burn at half that rate and read the commercial DVD at default.

this version is dvdexpress 2-7-8-2 with a clean install. It just takes over 2 hours to complete a burn. Is this fixed by upgrading to the regular version that the speed can be adjusted to match my DVD's @16X . When I used the trial ver and choose speed 16X my burn time only took about 30 min. Do I need to upgrade to the regular ver? If so will they credit me to upgrade?

There will be no fix as for speeds goes this is a all in one 2 click solution just copy the dvd movie only or full disc and let it go. If more flexibility is the issue then upgrading to DNC Standard might be up your alley, but the issue of slow speed is there so that won't leave either. I tested this and copied and burned a movie in 30 minutes or less on all my testing so you need to reset you dma. Let me also add the quality media you are using is a 2 out of 5 rating as well. Also insure there is no packet writing software installed.

Here is the link to do that.
