power dvd will play your movie files and there are a lot of free ones as well.

Windows media player will also play your movies if you install the codecs needed.

ive been able to get the movie to play.when i look at the files it is saved as 5 or 6 individual files on the hard drive for the entire movies, when it plays back you can see the transfer to the next file because theres a pause in the movie.is it the way i copied it or is that normal?ty for you quick response earlier

if you really want to watch movies on your pc I would suggest coping your movies that you want to watch to iso format it creates one single file but you will need a program that plays back iso format like powerdvd does. and there is a free one too let me see if I can find it for you.
