I have been using the program through several versions (now at v2.7.8.2 ) and have been very pleased with it. This is my first post and results from my first problem . A software exception followed by runtime error 217 at 069603BD when attempting to make a backup copy of a DVD.
I shall search the FAQ list and hope to find some help there. If anyone has seen this problem I will appreciate their input!

This is due to a scratched or damaged DVD, Clean the DVD and try again if that fails also try a different drive as some are more forgiving on errors than others. Welcome to DNCSF.

Yes I like LiteOn Drives and BenQ Drives as they are more forgiving on these errors or scratches but those drives are only great at reading in my opinion.

After messing around with other burning software that suppose to play on my Toshiba HD-DVD player and half the time unable to finish watching my movie due to pixelation issues and freezing up on me, decided to go back to DNC and play it on my OPPO player and gee’s it played all the way through with no hitch. Thanks DNC:speak_cool:

Well Ralph DNC is top notch software it is a pity though that some of the newer HD-dvdplayers are fussy about what they play
you are not alone in that dept.

I am glad you to the problem finally sorted out Ralph.:agree::speak_cool: We all know what a good job DNC does with backing up our loved movies.
But Readability of burned and compressed discs has always been as issue. It mainly lies with the players themselves as they were made that way purposely. :agree: Sony's older players were culprits for having this trouble with all there range. Sony just did not want people watching backups on there systems ( being Columbia Productions ). But they soon learned that they would be shooting them selves in the foot if they did not change this. I am told the new Sony players are excellent and do not suffer from such problems.

Do have a Sony burner, one out of 4 burners, usually to read only.

Hi Ralph.
Yep i have a Sony DRU 830a burner ( not currently installed ). Its a clone of the Samsung 182D drive using a Mediatek internal chipset.
Hope i did not cause any of the confusion in my previous post, i was referring to older Sony standalone Players having the problem with backed up discs. Not the RW drives that i have come across.
But yes is the answer to your question my friend.

I have used many different programs and combinations of programs to backup my personal collection of DVDs. Until recently I did it all under Linux due to the fact that I couldnt find software to run on a windows platform that did the job in the quality that I expected and needed.
I purchased DVD Next Copy and ripped and burned my first DVD, Transformers, for my son to take back to Afghanistan with him when he returns in 6 days to complete his second tour. I must say I ma very impressed and will definately recommend your product to all of my friends..
Hands down yours is the easiest and does the best job..
You guys rock! Keep up the good work! :speak_cool:
