:mad:I just can’t believe this, I am unable to format my hard drive on my XP Pc, have done it before now all of a sudden must have had a stupid pill because lately haven’t been able to do nothing right at all, well enough said about me. Trying to reformat my main drive through accessories and a message comes back stating

“ Windows cannot format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure that no windows is displaying the contents of the drive. Then try formatting again”

Correct me if I am wrong should I delete every program on the hard drive first then format???:oops

Put your XP disc in the drive and then reboot and reformat the PC before windows loads up.

Before reformatting your hard drive, how do you back up the DVD neXt Copy Pro and other things that you have to register so you don't have to go through the agervation of re-registering it?

I know I have seen this before in here, and I thought I printed it out, but I can not find it.

Thank you in advance for your help.

The only way that I know of is to write down all of your activation codes for all of your programs. After formatting your hard drive, reinstall your programs & enter you activation codes as required.
I usually save my programs & activation codes to a removable hard drive. This saves alot of time when it comes time to reinstall software, especially if you have a slow connection.
Hope this helps

Unfortunately it sounds like you already have issues due to your question, the best thing to do is to go ahead and redo the format and when you are done doing that and get all the MS updates plus reinstall DNC and activate it I would then do this :

I want to post less and just do my job as afmin and deal with that only. Mods are here to just moderate what's posted not to jump so really the members here that use the software should help more. I hope this happens soon as we have lots of goodies for them if they continue to post reply to help post. Hemi is a great asset here and glad he's a senior member.

Well you guy's are fast as I was putting something together you beat me to the punch. Anyway's In my case transfered the documents file such as photos etc. to a USB HD, if you don't have a external USB HD
would suggest to copy your pictures and most items under your file " Documents" folder to a DVD or CD disk. To know exactly what programs you have on your PC, I used Belarc Advisor a free download and it shows all your programs and some licenses to them.

Unfortunately DVDNext Copy or any other software you have, you have to manually reinstall them, that is the pain in formatting the HD that you have to reinstalling them, make sure that you have your registration numbers before you format your drive.

The Belarc Advisor showed me each program and what I did was to go down the list and marked of, the one's that needed the registration numbers.

Hope this help's and good luck.
