I keep getting a dvd next copy virtual drive new hardware on my installation wizard. I can't seem to get rid of it and I can not get the latest version until I do. It keeps telling me to insert the cd. I have tried to unistall dvd next copy but the installation wizard just keeps popping up! Any idea?

OK You need to look at the bottom right hand corner of windows and right click on VDrive and select to close it. You can then uninstall that and or DNC. If you want you can just uninstall DNC. Be sure speed adjuster isn't running either as this won't let DNC to uninstall nor update.

Sorry I'm not computer friendly. I have several icons on the bottom right security, personal web, Windows messengers, Volume, safely remove hardware, and one that does nothing. Am I in the right spot?

Yes and if you hover your mouse over the icons and see a VDrive or Speed Adjuster these need to be exited first to be able to update. Don't worry about not being savvy we'll get you sorted, plus we all have been there before too.

1.)For some reason I can not down laod the latest copy.
2.)I keep getting the new hardware intallation manager for the virtual drive. The virtual drive has not been installed on my pc so I can't unistall it and can't get the new hard ware wizard to stop popping up.

I know they are 2 different programs but wondered if the virtual drive is why I can't make any back ups.

Try this please and see if this does not fix your problem.

This is what I want you to do go download and install vdrive again here

DVD neXt COPY Virtual Drive
(http://www.dvdnextcopy.com/vd.aspx?f=free)

now reboot, now in the icon tray you will see the vdrive click on it and exit it

now click on start at the bottom left hand corner>> now click on control panel>> now add/ remove programs>>> and then uninstall the vdrive and reboot.

Will next copy back up HD DVD's?

No on the HD movies.try this please and make sure that when you do this there should be another drive listed besides whatever you have in your machine and it will say only cd/rom thats the one I want you to disable and reboot and see if that does it.
if you find a yellow question mark and no cd/rom there uninstall the yellow question marked one.

heres the instructions:

go too control panel select administrative Tools.....now click on computer management...Now on the left click on device manager now click on the + sign of dvd/cd-rom drives
you should see your regular burners and an extra one which would be the vdrive left click on it and then right click now click disable.
it. and rebbot.

Do you have Norton Anti Virus on your system,
Which version of XP or XP Sp2
At anytime have you ever installed Alcohol or Deamon tools, there have reports of same problems there also

:sad::sad: I'm running XP,SP2, machine has 4G of Ram...intel Dual Core, and almost 1T of storage. Im also running nortons 360... I can not get my Vdrives to go active, the Manager says disabled, yet I see 4 Vdrives in control pannel. I can not mount any of the drives, with manager, and when I try and reset it back to 4 drives selected, the system wants a reboot, when it comes up the drives are still disabled??? any recomendations????:Bow::Bow:

Sorry to say but Norton software doesn't link this program either. This is about the only all in one it doesn't like I think.
