View Full Version : Anydvd
Decided to try Anydvd trial but I'm having trouble getting it to run. When I try to burn a dvd, I get a error message that says DVD nextcopy detected ANYDVD as active. In order to use external software you need to enable the software compatibility mode in setting. Well, I went to profiles and checked off enable software compatibility mode but I continue to get the same error message.
Thnaks for any suggestions.

You have to check it off in settings also!
Hope this helps and happy burning! :)

Oh ya make sure you have uninstalled the machinist2.dll!
I feel like an idiot, but I don't see that option under settings, only uner profiles. Where do I look? Under additional setting I have: 1.disable screensaver 2.show tooltips and 3.play sound if ready.
Never mind, I am an idiot. I found it in a different screen. Thanks.

I am currently using the trial version of AnyDVD and really like it but I was just checking out the purchase page and I am completely confused by all the programs that are listed there. Do I really need the complete package or is there just one of them that I can use that will do the same thing that the trial package does? Thanks for any help.

Buy what you want. I own DNC but own their line of products too. If it is just anydvd as I assume you have and are happy with DNC then just get that. It is a great product.

Anydvd is a decrypter! You need a decrypter to copy your dvd collection!
The other programs are copy programs that do various other things. If you own DVD neXt COPY all you need is a decrypter for it to backup your DVD collection!
If you want a free decrypter then I suggest you use the machinist2.dll which can be downloaded on the support page @ the DVD neXt COPY website. :)

Yes, I do own DVDneXt COPY so I guess all I need then is the AnyDVD program, not the others ones such as AnyDVD HD Option, Clone DVD, etc. a grand total of $119.00. I am going to learn all this stuff guys, I promise.

AnyDVD HD is a good buy when and only when DNC and others has a HD backup program. We'll always help when needed. I currently own all like I said but that was bought well before this product DNC came out. I own allot of various programs so I can ensure others there is no conflicts with these other programs.

I know this isn't about DNC, but I'm having a problem opening the file that contains the "key reference" information for my copy of AnyDVD. I purchased the program and they sent me the e-mail with the file....but I can't open it.
Anyone have any idea what type of file or program should be used to open it? It's called "key.anydvd" and it's 256 bytes, but that's all I know. I've sent a request to their support section, but it says it may take 48 hours for a response.
Just wondering if any of you had a solution.
Thanks,

you should be able to just drag and drop the anydvd key file to your desktop and then just double click it to activate the program. open it with Anydvd there should be an option for that when what program to open it comes up.

Thanks for the help.
It turns out to be "operator error" as I was looking at, and trying to open the file on a PC that does not have DNC or AnyDVD installed on it.
It works just like they say when you open it on a PC where the programs are located.\

No problem most of us here know quite a bit about anydvd and will gladly help. OK this is what you do download that key to the desktop. Save this key to a floppy or thumb drive or any storage of your choice. I have mine save on 4 thumb drives and a external Hard drive and also on a slave storage drive as well. Now on the key that you downloaded to the desk top just double click it and there will be a box that pops up and say yes. Now the registry info is in the registry to have the full version. Any more questions feel free to ask as we well most of us burning guru's recommend anydvd over the machinist but the machinist is 99% effective when used as well.
Let us know if this solved the issue. Also to see if it went ok open anydvd by right clicking in the tray at the bottom right in the taskbar and choose settings (left click) highlight information, this should now have your name and key info in it. If not then repeat the same steps as I previously stated with the anti-virus and the firewall turned off webroot spysweeper will or can interfere with this as well.

I just installed anydvd. When I run dvdnextcopy it says anydvd is active, in order to use external software you need to enable the sofware compatibility mode in settings. I have set the activate software compatibility under profiles- but no luck. I do not see a place to activate software compatibility under settings. Any ideas?
Running xp, dvdnextcopy version 2.7.8.2
Thanks-

When you open DNC and click new. You need to tick compatibility mode for it to work.
