Thanks Charlie, downloaded it to my desktop on the Xp Pc, Vista was not cooperating, will have to download it to a disk and then on my Vista, strange ah.

Charlie
12-17-2007, 02:09 PM
Well I suggest not using it on Vista as there is a major issue happening there that shouldn't. Just an FYI.

Ralph
12-17-2007, 02:26 PM
The Vista suppose to be my workhorse, had problems with the Xp Pc and format it now the Vista?

Charlie
12-17-2007, 02:28 PM
What is needed is to restore it to factor defaults most likely and I don't mean to use the geek squad's dvd either you need a restore disc that came with the PC do a destructive format and then run PC Decrapifier. Serious on that ralph. Also I assume that this vista is on a different machine and not a dual boot?

Ralph
12-17-2007, 03:09 PM
Charlie 2 seperate CPU and monitors the geek squad would just abolish everything and reformat, heck I can do that myself.:giggle:

Charlie
12-17-2007, 03:11 PM
I was referring that to use the restore disc that came with your purchased PC. If no restore disc you should still have a recovery mode when you click start>>>>programs>>>>PC Angel recovery most likely?

Ralph
12-17-2007, 05:14 PM
Have it as a seperate section on my primary:speak_cool: HD.

Charlie
12-17-2007, 05:19 PM
You might want to do a destructive format then and then run PC Decrapifier then. Also make sure Sonic DLA, Roxio Drag to Disc. or Nero InCD isn't installed prior to installing DNC. This is what I suggest though to see if we can cure your problems. Then install anydvd and DNC after you remove the other stuff and run PC Decrapifier then reboot.

Thanks Charlie, part of the problem I think is Quicken 2004, reason after installing it on my Vista it appears that after that the problems started. It has given me problems by itself on the Vista but not on the Xp system, will uninstall quicken on the Vista and if the problem persists then will take your advice. Probably will be using your suggestion anyway's.

Charlie

I speak the best and sometimes it is best to just redo windows. When I beta test anything I reimage my OS to when there was nothing installed so I know what works and then slowly add to windows what I want and test burning after each install. I hate to tell you to do this but to be honest it sounds the easiest especially if the uninstall of quicken doesn't change anything.

Charlie
12-17-2007, 05:36 PM
Ralph if you installed Vista's SP1 RC don't do that on the new format and install. Wait till it goes to released to use SP1.

Ralph
12-17-2007, 06:31 PM
To late on the Sp 1 Rc, do have a usb 200GB empty to transfer, the problem also, heh, heh.

I know of such a place where they'll pay the person to bring in the committed. Last I check was 150.00 USD per person and 300.00 sounds good right now as I am literally broke and some bills left unpaid.

I know what you mean, retired a couple of years ago and most of the time do not know what to do, even if their is some sort of work to do around the house.

Suppose to take my youngest daughter to the airport last night but she postponed it do to the weather so took her today, wife and I home alone and that did not last long oldest daughter brought our grandkids over to spent the night the oldest is sick. So my friend life is just a revolving door and it depends on what door you are in.

On the good side finally burned a copy of the DVD Once upon A time in America, even with the sector errors on it, fixed it with AnyDVD rip and burned it with DNC and so far a perfect copy. Horray,
