Took off CA Firewall suite and installed Kaspersky Firewall suite found out that CA was becoming a big memory hog and slowing my system down as well as giving me all sorts of problems/errors during and after bootup problems are gone now and system running so much smoother and faster!
Now I will try the 30day trial and if I like it will purchase it:wink:

It is very good and I intend to buy it as well remember though the way Kaspersky works is on the fly. Meaning while downloading something something it is scanning it for viruses and spyware at the same time. I liked it but can't afford it right now so I am using AVG Free.

I started out with Kaspersky "AVP" back when Zucker Davis promoted them on ZD TV , but a 26 year old Russian in competition came out with AVG which has been given more AWARDS than any other Virus protection. I ve ran both over the last 10 years , AVG still the best choice , they stay on top of the bug list and as always have the cure before anyone.

I'm a license reseller for both I sell more AVG than AVP

But look if your going to use your system to do backups , I can not stress , Get a separate HD with nothing but OS all updates drivers and what specific DVD backup software and NO VIRUS DETECTION ,SPY WARE ,AD WARE, ROOT KIT. and you will have less problems with backups.\

Just a professional opinion from one who repairs these thing for a living and 9 systems burning electricity Daily

Kaspersky has to be # 1 in my book by far.

Hi :)
In my experience, Kaspersky is one of the best (if not the best).
Currently of the best of the freebies is Avira.
If you want all in one Kaspersky Internet Suite 7.
On the freebie front a combo of Avira/ZoneAlarm/Spybot (unless you're Vista-fied, then change ZoneAlarm for Comodo firewall).
AWCPersonal is a useful addition, while the Pro version gives running in the background ( plus one or two other goodies).

Greetings,

Since I am considering purchasing Kaspersky I decided to search the forum to see if there was any mention of it . That is when I came across this thread.

You who are using Kaspersky, do you have any other anti-spyware or anti-malware software installed?

Do you know of any such software which is NOT compatible with Kaspersky?

My subscription to Spyware Doctor is about to expire along with my subscription with Norton Internet Security and I am not going to renew either of them.

Thanks,

Roundtree.

No I am not aware of any conflicts with Kaspersky and I have been using it for over a year and I do not use any other malware /spyware programs there is really no need for them if you are running Kaspersky's Internet security suite 2009.
you can't go wrong JMHO.

I have Zone Alarm security suite and I believe Kaspersky licenses their signatures to them. But to my knowledge Kaspersky has no compatibility issues with any software

I have just renewed my years subscription with Kaspersky. :agree: Got a 3user 1 year addition as a family member needed new security too. Its by far the best simple program i have used to date.
No conflicts so far and i use many programs with it as well.

I have :

Spybot , A2fee , Spyware terminator , Ad aware , AWC3

Although for Virus's Kaspersky does this job. But the others are for more minor problems.

Kaspersky has a compatibility problem with Spyware Doctor. I recently purchased KIS and during its installation it detected the presence of Spyware Doctor on my pc and said that I had to remove it in order to complete the installation.

I have found that Zone Alarm works well also and never have had a problem either. Frankly I don't like using anything because all of them seem to drag the computer down. The computers that are used for just video tranfers and pictures don't have anything on them because they are not used to surf with and download crap. 10 years and never had an infection.
