I downloaded Vdrive and am trying to install it. It gets to the point where it is actually going to install the driver and it warns me that it is not an approved "Microsoft Driver" and would I like to proceed. I respond yes and BOOM, the monitor goes black and my system reboots.

After the reboot the system finds a new scsi port and then tries to add the driver again for the "Dvdnextcopy virtual drive adapter" and I browes it out to c:\program files\dvdnextcopy virtual drive\ and point it to the dvdnextcopy.sys where upon BOOM, black screen and reboot.

Any ideas???

Thanks in advance

P.S. I am running Windows XP Pro - SP2

This is weird as I had been using it when I was on XP SP2. Let me install that drive again and see. I'll know more tomorrow as it is too late to get that done tonight and all the updates as well.

Try this :How to successfully do a clean install on DNC - DVD neXt COPY Support Forum (http://www.dvdnextcopysupportforum.com/showthread.php?t=1767) Except you'll be uninstalling and reinstalling VDrive. Is InCD Drag to Disc or DLA installed?

I have kind of already tried that. I downloaded CC Cleaner and used it. It looks like the guy in this same forum with question entitled (Virtual Drive Problem) (currently eighth from the top) had pretty much the same issue in reply #15. I didn't seem to get resolved.

I ended up manaully removing Vdrive as the install never made it far enough to put anything into the "add/remove programs". I manaully deleted the folder, manually cleaned up the registry and then ran the CC Cleaner again. It isn't a big deal to me, just thought it may be a neat way to view my saved ISO's.

Thanks - Allen

His problem was the fact he never installed it if I read right? I am going to shut down my PC and put in the XP hard drive and see on my end.

Do you have any security software installed? What is it? Do you have windows washer or other types of antispyware programs installed? Is System mechanich installed? Sorry for the questions but I am up on XP SP2 32 bit and it installed just fine for me. Going to reboot back into vista now.

I believe the gentleman in the earlier post was having the exact same issue. He never had it fully installed because it was blowing up on the installer. Here is his quote from reply # 15. "Re: Virtual Drive Problem
-------------------------------------------------------------------"I get to the pop up that says this software has not passed Windows testing. I click continue anyway and my pc shuts down. I tried it twice."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
That is exactly what I am getting. To answer your other questions, I have Spybot loaded but I am NOT running it in an active mode, I only scan manually with it. Same thing with Ad-Aware SE personal. I run it manaully. My AV software is AVG free. I am not sure what "system mechanic" is, so I would guess that I am not using it.

Thanks - Allen

The best I can say is wait on a mod or another user as I can't really play with VDrive as it isn't 64 bit compatible. However I had allot of install errors when I was using spybot as well due to the fact that spybot's teatimer was always still running this is why I don't use it and allot of others on other forums state this as well.

Thanks for the effort - I appreciate it.

I don't use the Team Timer to monitor/protect the registry. I only use it for manual scans. Like you, I had it on for a while but determined that it wasn't worth the pain in the @ss.
