Hi, some how my wife notebook is unable to connect to my router network that we have with SBS dsl. Have tried everything that I can think of, restoring to a previous period etc. it seems that it calls for a password to connect and God knows what that password is, could it be the router name, will try that to see what happens.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Forget Ma Bell, Papa Bell pay's the bills:). Have tried everything that you guy's suggested to no avail, by the way if I was to call SBC as long as I have one hook up, they will not help. though that Charlie suggestion would do, but no way. Rats have had this problem before and solved it, now, who knows.

Ralph no matter what model try this.
before you power down call to see if there is a driver/software update if not proceed .
Now power down your system when it has completely shut down.
now unplug the power from the modem /router
now power your system back up
when it has rebooted completely
plug your modem - router if they are combined
if have two units plug modern in first wait till all light are showing about 60 sec
then plug in router . all should come back up
if not
call Ma bell thats what there getting paid for Ralph
their knuckle dragin techs get 45 and hr to fix this by remote
all the system restores on the planet will not reset a network

The router is a SBC brand or model "2Wire".

Ralph now I'm confused there are two kinds of equipment here combined wired and wireless
Modem connects to dsl <<<< is this one wireless being its a SBC 2wire
router connects network <<<< is this wireless and what is it.
If they are one , go back and follow my instructions on all computers , should work.
My self I would go buy my own Modem with a separate router ," Google 2wire modems"
will supprise you of you will find." PS3's will kill them
But again when you decide to get your own ,then all you then need to do is call SBC and give them the MAC addresses on both .

Read, I see that you are really putting your thoughts on this, do appreciate it your help, like previously stated will try your assumption as soon as I get done downloading a file.
Will also do some search on this on the web myself, as the saying goes If I did it once I can do it again, HOPE.

Ralph if you do the reset procedures above it should work. There should be a reset button on the modem itself .well knowing Ma bell there may not be LOL

If not unplug it and watch the clock for 30 seconds this gives the modem time to reset itself.

Thanks for the help, decided to do it the easy way and called SBC and was lucky to get a local guy, within 2 minutes I was up and running. Have a tendency to try to figure things out myself and sometimes that does not work smoothly.:giggle:

Somehow the right router or name of the router was not showing up on the network connection and other were. The rep asked for my router name and serial number and within seconds had a network connection on my wifes computer with my last name as the router name and then gave me my new key code, this time I wrote it down. It sounds if he can do that he can hack my notebook?
Strange things happens alway's listen to Aol XM radio its free and today could not connect and checked the volume controll on my PC and the main Volume was muted, God know how that happened? Guess just mysteries unsolved:joking
