I recently posted a thread re: the burning process suddenly stopping after 700mb, the software indicating a successful burn, but the DVD was not in fact complete. A couple of the technicians offered their input, to no avail as I reported back. I need to eat some serious crow here and admit that this was utterly user error. I'd purchased Taiyo Yuden discs, per your recommendation, white labeled (so you don't really see on the disc what you have), but didn't realize that one of the stacks I'd bought were audio discs, not DVDs. Thus, the program was maxing out the disc, quiting at 700mb like it had to, and herein lied the issue. I'm really sorry to have wasted your time, folks, while commending your responsiveness all the same!! Last point: I'm surprised the software doesn't give you a heads up that your media is inadequate to the task at hand, while certainly knowing better going forward!

Guess what it has happened to the best of us and glad you found out, we never get tired of helping after all that is why we are here. I'll link this thread from your other as well. I will also see to it that if indeed a CD-R is inserted that DNC will say no medium found.

there is one problem doing this though I use DNC to copy iso's to CDR sometimes so I think probably best that all users check their media rather its a cdr or a dvd would probably suffice...:):)

I say :tounge: to you Tony and say it is needed as most of the users here use DNC to make DVD's only. Sorry.

No ask them the next time a four page thread pops up if they are using CDRS BY MISTAKE??

we should have both caught it when the member said gets to 700 mbs and stops...I feel stupid on that one...:agree:

I think this problem was addressed awile back with another user. I remember reading his post & purposely useing CDR to see if it would recognize it as the wrong media or not. It didn't & burned until the CDR was full & spit it out. I mentioned this to Charlie at the time

It's being looked into and I requested a pop up window telling you that you are using a CD-R instead of a blank DVD. If you look at the burn window when you go to burn it will tell you what type of disc is in not sure about if you autoburn though.

I have a thought for you 2 with the Price of 48x CR's the average Verbs are .25 cents ea. where Verb 16x+r's DVD's at .29 cent ea. why bother with cds unless your still burning music but with all the MP3/Ipods players whats a cd for now,
