:help:
I installed the Virtual DVD...
Now the "E" drive in "My Computer" has disappeared & has been replaced w/"G" - which seems to be the virtual drive.

I'm a Newbee w/a Capitol "N"...

Any ideas on what I'm supposed to do now?

Any help would be appreciated. THNX!

Thnx for your super-fast reply (!)

I'll try your suggestions to get the Virtual Drive to work (even tho' I don't really understand yet how it will help me), but first...
All I was hoping to do tonight was copy a disc I have to return to my friend 1st thing in the morning.

For some reason, after I installed the VD, my pc doesn't recognize that I have a 2nd drive in the system. The graphic in "My Computer" for Drive "D" (my SOURCE drive) has been replaced w/Drive "G".

In AnyDVD, Drive "D" has been replaced with:
"No Disc is present in Drive G:!
DVDNEXT DVDNEXTCOPYVD 0007".

- It's as if I never had the Samsung Drive "D" at all...

I'd gladly uninstall this VD for good if I knew that doing so would enable my pc (a Dell w/Win XP) to (RE)recognize the existence of Drive "D".

Any idea how this 'replacement' happened & - much more importantly - how to get the system to acknowledge the existence of Drive D??

(I feel so terribly awkward because of my evident naivete/ignorance, & am sorry to be bothering you like this. I thought this would all be so Easy...)

Thnx again for any help (!!)

uninstall the virtual drive & see what happens

Uninstalled... ReBooted...

It looks like everything's back 'the way it was':

Hmmmm...
Drive D is back - No more Drive G (natch), but
- The AnyDVD info via the task bar icon says both drives have discs in them, yet
- When opened, AnyDVD says:
"No Disc is present in Drive D:!"
(Where there's a blank dvd)...

Okaaaaaay...
Guess I'll open up DVDNExt COPY PRO 2 & see what happens.
Hopefully it'll recognize that I'm supposedly 'ready to go'...

I'm going to shut-off Firefox for a moment:
I might be wrong, but - for some reason - I'm under the impression that these programs work best when 'other' programs (like browsers) are shut down.
... Don't know if I'm right or wrong on this score.

If all goes well, I may be signing off for the rest of the eve...
If not, maybe I'll do a shot of JD & call it a night (chuckle)...

In any case, just wanted to say that I was delighted how DVDNExt COPY PRO worked so well the first time I used it a couple of nights ago (it worked when the sw I imagine is it's # 1 competitor failed).
- I'll also mention - gladly - that I'm far more impressed w/the assistance I received here than I ever was when seeking help w/THAT program.

Hope this works.

MANY thnx to both of you who helped me.
(I don't understand what all that was about w/the VD program: haven't played w/a VD since I used one w/ a "Fat Mac" when 1st released many, many years ago...
I imagine I'll have to scout the forum to understand the benefits of that piece of sw when have some time
- altho' I'm surely a little nervous - tonight at least! - about possibility of reinstalling at some later date [!]) - & "losing" Drive "D" again...)

THNX AGAIN, (Ladies or) Gents...

It's pretty much past my bedtime, but I'm going to see if I can make this one project work tonight, & will prob be signing off for this evening in any case.

- you've made me feel very welcome, & I'm grateful (!!).

2 quickie questions
(which I'll folo-up on checking answers for tomorrow):

1. Are there any more sophisticated User Guides for this "Pro" ver sw than the oh-so-basic one I 1st saw on the primary site (& where)?

2. Where should I seek/post further 'tech' questions than this 'Introduction'-focussed thread?
(Altho' I guess I'll - hopefully - figure that out when I have some time: I just purchased/installed this sw a couple of days ago.)

In any case
- THNX AGAIN.

I've got some Learning to do, it seems.
(Boy... hope I can figure out how that VD sw messed me up so much [!])

Hope this works tonight!

Thnx again....

D

PS:
Being a full-fledged, naive NB kinda blows :)
- Nice to know some good folks out there 'have my back'...
