I believe your judgement on my last thread was rather harsh. I do listen, which is why I'm back to tell you my results. BitDefender is behind the slow burnings and system lockup. I'll be complaining to them about it later.
I know a lot about computers too, and I'm not going to use expensive media or leave my systems defenseless just because I am advised to do so.
I also don't know where you get this "attitude" of mine. I really think I've been quite civil.
I am truly thankful for all your help, but I don't see the point of telling me I'M ABSOLUTELY WRONG with my decisions and experience. Disagreements are good things; plus, did I not say in my post I was going to uninstall BitDefender and try what you had suggested?
I'm also having a new problem with DVD Next Copy on my second Quad Core comp. I reformatted the whole thing, and DVD Next Copy freezes when I try to start the reading process. Just stops responding. This is odd, as I have a fresh install with the same applications installed as before which never gave me any problems. I don't my firewall on that comp is causing the issue, but I will check.
I am sure you will figure it out okay I am happy you uninstalled bitdefender and DNC worked but your refusal to use good media and other things is just causing you more issues but thats up to you and no one here would suggest leaving your computer unprotected only advise which programs that run well with DNC and other programs without problems....good luck:)

Ok , i think thats a fair comment.:agree:
But we can only offer you a view or an opinion on what you have asked. 99% of problems begin with trouble shooting. This may invlovle un-installing the apps in question ( you mentioned bitdefender ) and answer many questions.
If you have Zonealarm i am sure it has a firewall anyway , with antivirus. ?? So removing bitdefender will not leave you un protected. I now think it could be a problem with two very similar programs running together starting to conflict. I understand that Zonealarm is a very good program and i use it myself but its something you try and aviod. You would not run two decrypters at the same time , or two firewalls. It echo's similar rules in my opinion.
You seem to have a fair amount of knowledge and ask some interesting questions. Maybe the way you reply comes across wrong to what you intended.
We are all only fellow DNC software and computer users giving our time to help others if we can. If you want to not agree with a post , then that is your absolute right , but please be constructive and put the point across why you think its in-correct.
Readmetoo is one of our most advanced moderators we have here. I think he maybe the only person qualifyed to help you. But we are willing to try if you are willing to think outside of the box.

Eric, we weren't trying to be harsh what so ever. As McT stated what was read and what you meant might of been two different things. We can only offer so much help and after that it really is out of our hands to be honest. The Playo media used isn't the best. I really don't recommend it but try to get some Sony or TDK or imitation branded media it is known these play well with DNC but I can't say how long the backup will last either. It can't be a DNC at fault due to the crappy dye used on blank media is all we are trying to point out. The same goes for drives as well it really can't be a DVD Drive issue due to the crappy media dye as well. I am aware of your knowledge on PC's and they are appreciated to offer more help. We were never stating to leave your PC defenseless either just to try something different. I have to look at the way one posted as well as how it was taken when threads gets locked so I am trying to be unbiased all the time. If you were to go through every thread and post here you'll see that our suggestions 99.99% of them were fixed with high quality media though. No disrespect but just pointing a few things out. I know with you being a bit younger that 25.00 over 10.00 is a big hike in prices.
On a side note this post reply isn't meant to have any disrespect towards you either in case it may feel that way.

I tested DVD Next Copy on my other PC with ZoneAlarm, and this time it worked. It seems to have fixed itself, so I'm all good.
Thanks for all your help.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it was BitDefender. I have already contacted them about it, and they told me they'd look into it.

Guy it appears with the type of power systems you have , which were not cheap,
Why in the world dont you invest in a Net Gear PROSAFE™ VPN FIREWALL 8 W/8 PORT 10/100 SWITCH, you will not have software issues with your gaming system an DVDback up systems , plus what ever else your doing.
Just some advice that may make life a whole lot easier for a power system user like your self.

Good idea, but I'd rather use ZoneAlarm which is probably just as good as VPN firewalls. Perhaps when I get more money, I'll look into it. The only reason I have my quads is because I sold my single core PCs, built dual core PCs, sold those dual core PCs immediately, and bought quad cores with the money.
