    "The neXt Tech Challenge"

For every new movie that is released that cannot be backed up with DVD neXt COPY neXt Tech we will give 1 free License code to the first person that submits a fully working neXt Tech database (DB) update for that movie. There can only be 1 winner and only 1 free license will be given away to the first person for each new movie that cannot be backed up. Of course, if different UPC numbers or region codes require a different update for the same movie, that will qualify as a new update. To become a winner I or another member will have to check the database to confirm it is indeed working. Be sure to read how to submit a database as well so you do that correctly. Everyone is included into this contest so invite friends and family as well as there is a 3 day trial use of the software.

We also need to make one thing clear on this. There is no need to make a database bin for movies that work just fine with the heuristics built into the program. NTU is only used when DNC can't do it without a application crash or shows 3+ titlesets all the same size.

    Good luck to you all

Good idea, strange execution. Get a free license for software you are already probably paying for using.

Thank you and yes it is strange but at the same time it is helpful and you can give to a friend or relative if you already own it.

Have to admit, like username, the idea behind the contest is nice, as it will ensure quick database updates. However, other than downloading the trial version of v4 and franctically scrambling to find a title that does not work so that I can be first to fix it means that I will have already paid for the software ... in which case, for me isn't really an incentive (no one else in my family or my friends are really as DVD crazy as I am ... or that technological to use the program ... the bulk of my relatives truly have trouble turning a computer on and logging in.)

Oh well, good luck to those that have a copy of v4 and can enter the contest to win another one! :-)

I, personally, have not upgraded to v4 yet because my v3 Ultimate key was given to me free by DVDneXtCopy ... so, I haven't had to pay the yearly update fee, because my license key has no credit card number associated with it ... (knock on wood that it doesn't just stop working now that I said that out loud!).

Thanks again, Charlie, for the forum and the contests. :-D

That can still be used along with the new v4. Read the manual on how to use and to give you a hint on one title that is posing an issue is "The Time Travellers Wife" UPC#9404313235 is a problem title today.

      It's "Backing Up", not copying!

Also on a side note we wanted to do something different or more constructive than just a simple posting to enter into this contest. Before we just had a very easy way of winning. Then when the contest was over so was all the postings.

Let me add if you don't own it read the NTU userguide I made and then get a grip on that then download a trial of v4 when you have a title that needs NTU and make databases off the trial.

I just don't see any advantage with v4 over Ultimate. Especially when I have a lifetime license for Ultimate and use AnyDVD for the ripping.
    1. Charlie's Avatar
There is no reason to reply if you aren't interested, I do believe this is a lifetime key as well but will have to ask to be sure.

Strange that you have lifetime license for Ultimate as they do not sell them for Ultimate

      The challenge itself is fun.

I "backed-up" The Time Travelers Wife last night with v4/movie-only and didn't have to tweak anything... watched the backed-up version last night and all was well (re: posting saying that this title was currently an issue).

How long will the contest run? I like the idea for the contest and could use a free-key for a friend.

Thanks for the forum and all the support Charlie

Contest has no time limit. This was a combined effort with a silent partner so it was said it could run indefinitely maybe. I will be sure to post a announcement if it was to be stopped with a week or 2 to spare.

    Re: 3d

Then that would be Blu-ray 3D and none of the DNC product line is able to back up Blu-ray

    Re: BLU RAY back up

It is in the works I am told but there is no ETA upon an update to do this either.

    Re: BLU RAY back up

DNC cannot backup Blu Ray disc's at this time. We have been asking but nothing yet.

What you are reading is the option to copy multiple DVD's to a Blu Ray disc which is not the same.
